The U.S. military has a demand for quick and cheap launch services. Current world conditions, along with the current high cost of launch services for small satellites, are making this a high potential market.

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) funded Rocketplane in a design study to create new small satellite launch capability. With the experience gained from this contract, Rocketplane is developing a vehicle to meet this market demand.

In addition to the military applications, the same vehicle can be used to satisfy the civilian demand for small satellite launch services. Rocketplane has created a strong position in this market segment and is developing growing capability based upon its NASA "Bantam" award.
